Welcome Box

When a host family welcomes a new au pair into their home, they receive a Welcome Box from Cultural Care. Please note that families extending with their same au pair will not receive a Welcome Box or any additional mailed materials.

This box is filled with helpful information, activities, and resources that aim to help build a strong foundation for both the host family and the au pair as they start their journey together.

Welcome Boxes may arrive up to two weeks after the au pair arrives.

What's inside?
  • Welcome Letter: Details what is included in the Welcome Box.

  • “Dice to Meet You” game: A story dice game meant to bring the au pair and host family together to learn about each other's culture.

  • Host Family & Au Pair Schedule Starter Kit: A starter pack for planning pages. Customers can print additional pages as needed.

  • Host Family Handbook: A resource with tips, best practices, and program rules.

  • Au Pair Journal: Au pairs can use this space to reflect, doodle, and write down memories of their time in the USA.

  • Au Pair Letters: Au pairs can open these notes throughout their term for more info and inspiration.

  • Au Pair Activity Poster: Contains a coloring map of the United States and some activities to do with host kids.

  • Kids First Postcard: Contains information about Cultural Care Kids First Foundation and some fundraising ideas.

Welcome Box requests

If a customer shares that they have not yet received their Welcome Box, please first check the fulfillment schedule to determine if a replacement box is needed.

Before you submit a request, have you...

  • Checked the USPS tracking number to view the progress of the shipment?

  • Determined if Welcome Boxes have already been sent to families with the same au pair arrival week?
